Indication:

The preparation is a medicine for the external treatment of warts.

Dosage:

Always use the preparation exactly as directed.

Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The medicine is intended for use on the skin.
If not otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
Apply the preparation to the wart(s) 2 to 4 times a day.

The medicine should not come into contact with the healthy skin around the wart.

You can protect it with a fatty cream.

Allow the treated skin areas to dry.
Before reapplying, the existing film should be removed by peeling or rubbing.

With regular use, the softened horny layer can be easily removed after a few days, if necessary after a hot soapy bath.
This process is repeated until the wart is removed or falls off.
Using the product for a period of 4 to 6 weeks is usually sufficient.

Do not use the product for longer without medical advice.
The maximum daily dose for adults of 2g must not be used for longer than 1 week.

For children, the daily dose of 0.2g must not be exceeded.
Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the product is too strong or too weak.
If you have any further questions about the use of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Side effects:

Like all medicines, the preparation can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.

The preparation occasionally causes a slight burning sensation, and with more frequent application a more severe burning sensation, particularly on the skin surrounding the wart.

Furthermore, in very rare cases the following have been described:
Hypersensitivity reactions on the skin (allergic contact dermatitis), dilation of small, superficial skin vessels (telangiectasias), brown spots, sensitivity to light with the appearance of skin symptoms after exposure to sunlight (photosensitization), skin inflammation (dermatitis), thinning of the upper layers of the skin, pigmentation, depigmentation.
In the event of excessive irritation, treatment should be temporarily interrupted and resumed once the reaction has subsided.

In the event of side effects more serious than irritation, please consult a doctor.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if any of the side effects listed affect you seriously or if you notice side effects that are not listed.

Interactions:

When using the preparation with other medicines:
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including non-prescription medicines.
Salicylic acid can increase the absorption of other locally applied medicines through the skin.

The absorbed salicylic acid delays the breakdown of methotrexate and increases the effect of sulfonylureas.

Contraindications:

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredients salicylic acid or lactic acid as well as salicylates or any of the other ingredients of the preparation,
in infants or
in patients with renal insufficiency
in nursing mothers if large areas of skin are to be treated regularly

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

The medicine may only be used on small areas (area smaller than 5cm2) during pregnancy.
The preparation must not be used on the breast during breastfeeding.

Accidental ingestion of the medicine by the infant through contact with the treated part of the body must be avoided.

If the doctor considers regular treatment of large areas of skin with the preparation to be necessary, this should be done early.

Breastfeeding, as risks due to inadequate detoxification in newborns cannot be ruled out.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using any medicine.

Patient information:

Particular caution is required when using the medicine:
The preparation should not be used on the face or genital area.

Do not allow it to come into contact with eyes or mucous membranes.

If in doubt, consult a doctor.

Warts are contagious! To prevent the spread of infection, never give your own towel to others for use.

Do not walk barefoot if you have foot warts.
