Renata was born in Prague in 1964. After her school education, she studied illustration at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague. Renata has been illustrating and writing books for children and young people since 1988. Her focus is on historical topics. To date, almost 50 book titles have been published worldwide.
In addition to her work on books and for publishers, she has also illustrated programs for the Czech National Theater and designed various postage stamps.
Her illustrations have been shown in many exhibitions around the world and have been recognized with national and international prizes and awards. She recently started teaching illustration at the University of Pilsen.
